Endangered Animals - by Bri

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself what you are doing if you shoot an animal? Well I have an answer. You are taking down their population number. Humans need to be more careful, or else you will help take out another animal specie.

Humans have gotten too many animal species extinct, we need to be more careful. I have 3 reasons to support what I’m saying, and 9 pieces of evidence total.  So here’s what I have.

Guns should not be used against animals. I think this because I have a list of extinct animals and about 90% of the list was extinct because of hunting. And that’s not even close to all the extinct animals in the world. That needs to stop.    Also because animals don’t do anything to humans without a reason. The animals are just trying to survive. Making animals extinct is not  a good reason for anything they do, or have done to us. Another thing is a lot of extinct animals we have done, was because of poaching and hunting. For example: 1. West African Black Rhino (poaching) 2. Passenger Pigeon (hunting and trapping) 3. Quagga (hunted for fur) 4. Caribbean Monk Seal (over hunting) 5. Sea Mink (hunted for fur) 6. Tasmanian Tiger (shot and trapped)  7. Jauan Tiger (hunted and destroyed environment) 8. Great Auk (slaughtered in huge numbers)  9. Bubal Hartebeest (hunted) 10. Bush-Antlered deer (hunted for antlers) 11. Dodo Bird (hunted).

Littering hurts animals too.  I think this because There’s enough plastic in the ocean to make another continent as big as Europe. Also that people calculated that 9.1 billion tons made, about 7 billion tons are are no longer used. And leaving behind nearly 5.5 billion tons of plastic in water on wastelands and other properties. Another fact is that in a dead Sperm whale scientists, in 2012, they found; 30 square meters of tarp, 41/2 long meter hose, 9 meter long plastic rope, and 2 plastic flower pots.

People aren’t careful enough around animals. For example asking 10 people to name animals as fast as they can, I’ve realized that at least 33% of them were endangered species. And that in 2016 a 5-year-old fell into the gorilla exhibit because he wasn’t careful enough. Lastly People aren’t careful enough around animals because in the past 500 years, people have managed to get around 322 animal species extinct.

In conclusion, people need to be more careful around animals because if we take out too many animals in the food chain then we will be barely living. Because we are in the food chain.  Imagine a world without pets, animals, and more. Too many plants, too many animals of 1 kind, people will starve and then mankind will be wiped out too. The earth will have no purpose and we will never get to know anything else then what we know now. If we don’t try to be more careful, then you have just dug our graves.
